PROGRESS: Downtown lots see upgrades, rehab to allow for more public parking

Crews work at the parking lot at the northeast corner of 1st Street and Palmetto Avenue to lay out markers for parking spaces.

The bank drive-thru lanes behind the former Wells Fargo building were demolished this week to make way for more public parking. The City of Sanford has agreed to lease the full lot for two years.
