Flood waters continue to rise

Sanford’s downtown waterfront has been closed as waters continur to rise and flood the RiverWalk and Seminole Boulevard.

Saturated grounds along the lakefront allowed for trees to topple over with their roots intake.

Aerial footage shows flooding in Geneva, which has taken over homes and businesses in the area.

City of Sanford crews first paved a way to Marina Island (left) following the hurricane. However, due to rising waters, crews had to return a second time (right) to redo their work on Palmetto Avenue.
