Excessive rain causes sewer backups, forces businesses to close over weekend

The City of Sanford placed signs along the lakefront warning of contamination in the water, but wind blew most of the signs down over the weekend.

Waves lap at the top of the Lake Monroe seawall as recent rainfall has raised water levels, causing flooding in parts of Sanford.
