William R. “Bill” Corrente, 76, formally from Rhode Island, Educator and Coach, died Sunday, February 21, 2021, surrounded by his family at his home in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Many members of the public spoke during Monday’s school board meeting. Ultimately Serita Beamon (Above, right) was chosen in a 3-2 vote.

The Seminole County School Board voted 3-2 Monday night to pick Serita Beamon as the first Black and first woman superintendent for Seminole County Public Schools.

Former Mayor Jeff Triplett passed away Saturday at the age at 52. He served as mayor for 9 years.

Former Mayor Jeff Triplett dies after battle with cancer

Jeff Triplett, who led the City of Sanford as mayor from 2011 until he resigned in June 2020, died Saturday morning surrounded by his close family members and following a battle with lung cancer. Triplett was 52 years old.
