Seminole County Fire Department graduates largest-ever recruiting class

Recruits went through a 10-week training academy before graduating as recruits for the Seminole County Fire Department.

The Seminole County Fire Department graduated its largest ever recruiting class Friday during a ceremony at Winter Springs High School. The majority of the new recruit training was paid for with a $7 million federal grant. In December, the Department earned a Class 1 rating from the Insurance Services Office, which is the top rating that could help lower local insurance premiums.
