Harriette LaShell Watson Barnes

Harriette LaShell Watson Barnes also affectionately known as, “Shell”, 49, of Deland, Florida passed away on January 23, 2024, at her residence.  She was born on October 10, 1974, in Sanford, Florida to the late Harry J. Watson, Sr. and the late Cheryl Denise Knight-Fossitt.  Harriette attended Seminole County Public Schools, Sanford, Florida.  She will truly be missed by her family and her friends. 

Harriette was preceded in death by her parents, father, Harry J. Watson, Sr.; mother, Cheryl Denise Knight-Fossitt; and her grandparents, Flora Watson, Odessa Cooper, and Joseph Watson. 

Harriette is survived by her husband, Randy Barnes; siblings, Sharmaine V. Knight, Harry J. Watson, Jr. (Tannetta), and Shanteria Watson; grandmother, Marie Knight; grandfather, Frank Knight; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends. 

We are aware that the state has relaxed the mask order; however, we are still asking anyone who will be attending the celebration of life service who can and will to please wear a mask, practice social distancing, and limit contact with others.  We are taking extra precautions and efforts to maintain a safe environment for everyone who attends. 

A Celebration of Life Service for Harriette LaShell Watson Barnes will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11 AM at House of Christ Ministries, 2589 South Sanford Avenue, Sanford, Florida 32773 with Pastor Calvin M. Donaldson,  Sr., officiating.
