She was born to Frederick and Ingeborg Theimer on December 6, 1940, in Vienna, Austria. At the age of 13, Frideborg emigrated to the United States to begin the American Dream with her parents and younger siblings, settling in Pennsylvania. After college, she met her first husband, Gery Simon. In the 1980’s, they moved to Florida to raise their family. Frideborg was an artist; painting gave her freedom of expression. Inspired by nature, landscapes, and most recently portraits, she created beautiful paintings-selling many, but giving much more away because of her generous nature; her goal was to share her artwork. Frideborg loved spending time with her family, creating Austrian meals and sweets. Besides painting and family, she was an active community member; most recently joining the Sanford Woman’s Club.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1 p.m. on March 23, 2024, at the DeGusipe Funeral Home in Sanford, FL. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Southwest Indian Foundation on her behalf.
