A DeLand man faces “enhanced charges” in what investigators called a racially prejudiced attack against three high school students at a gas station in Osteen, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Sanford police responded to a home on Lakeside Circle last Wednesday after a couple reported that a man threatened them with a gun.

There was a proposal to install this donated artwork on the waterfront in Sanford. It was decided Monday at the Sanford City Commission Work Session that the Sanford Public Art Commission will work on a proposal for a process for accepting or denying art donations to the city. Virginia Polk, head of the Art Commission, said they would start work on a proposed process at their Tuesday meeting.

The City of Sanford has pushed a decision on the Heritage Park waterfront project out at least to February as it considers hiring a corporate attorney to negotiate with developers.

On Saturday, units from Seminole County Fire Department’s second battalion responded to a house fire (above, below left) where it was reported that someone was trapped. Instead, firefighters found that everyone had escaped safely, according to the Seminole County Fire Department Facebook page.
