RUFUS CHRISTIAN, SR.

Rufus Christian, Sr., 77, of Sanford, passed away June 6, 2010 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

He was born June 8, 1932 in Madison, Florida. He worked as laborer for many years in the farming industry.

He is survived by his daughters, Kizzie Christian, Rutha Everett (Anthony), Bobbie McFayden (Frank), Diane Lawson, Carroll Lowery (Clifford), and Deloris Christian; sons, Norris Chisolm; adopted son, Michael Miller; brother, William Christian (Mary); sister, Seneta Williams; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at True Holiness Deliverance Tabernacle in Sanford. Visitation on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Sunrise Funeral Home Chapel in Sanford.

DAVID INMAN

David Inman, 81, of Sanford, passed away June 7, 2010.

He was born in Lumberton, N.C. and worked as a brick mason. He was also a member of the Abundant Life church.

He is survived by his sons, Charles and Terry Inman, both of Orlando, and John L. and Jimmy Inman, both of Sanford; daughters, Vivian Barnes, of Atlanta, and Julia Flenoy, Joyce Carter, Clementine Inman, Dwander Copeland, Santeria Harris and Ponder Williams, all of Sanford; brothers, John Inman, of N.C., and Clarence Inman of N.Y.; sisters, Sarah McCormick, of N.Y. and Betty Mae Schnider of N.C.; 37 grandchildren and 70 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wilson-Eichelberger Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the New Life Word Center with Dr. R.W. Merthie, Pastor, officiating and Pastr Kelvin Davis delivering the eulogy.

Wilson-Eichelberger Mortuary, Sanford, is in charge of all arrangements.

IDA KATE LOGAN

Ida Kate Logan, 85, of Sanford, passed away on June 4, 2010 at Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Sanford.

She was born September 15, 1924 in Tampa. She was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Sanford, and a homemaker.

She is survived by his loving sister-in-law, Rosa Myers and a host of loving and devoted nieces and nephews.

Sunrise Funeral Home, Sanford, is in charge of all arrangements.

GABRIELLE “GABBY”

ELIZABETH MAIR

Gabrielle “Gabby” Elizabeth Mair, 12, of DeBary, passed away June 2, 2010 in Orlando.

She was born April 16, 1998 in Longwood.

She is survived by her mother, Suzanna Mangham and father, Donald Eugene Mair.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Oaklawn Chapel of Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home with a gathering one hour prior to the service.

MARJORIE J. PRIDDLE

Marjorie J. Priddle, 74, of Bartow, passed away June 5, 2010 at Highland Lake Center in Lakeland due to heart failure.

She was born in Sanford January 1, 1926 and moved to Bartow 42 years ago. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Church in Bartow where she had served as a vestry member and faithful servant of the Alter Guild for 38 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wyndham E. Priddle and parents, Joseph Videl and Ella Lea Jones.

She is survived by two sisters, Judy Moore of Orange City and Joyce Layton of Kiev, Ukraine; brother, Randall Jones of Orlando; daughters, Karen Priddle and Jill Barr (Les) of Bartow; grandchildren, Jeff (Kim) Barr, Leslie (Theo) Clay and Jonathan Barr; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Barr, Theo Clay, Jr., Brianna Clay, and Tyson Clay, all of Bartow.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Bartow, with a memorial service following at 6 p.m. Contributions may be made in her memory to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 197, Bartow, Fla. 33830.

WILLIAM “BILL”

SHAW, JR.

William “Bill” Shaw, Jr., 76, passed away June 6, 2010 at the HOSPICE of the Comforter Care Facility in Altamonte Springs.

He was born on January 10, 1934 in Buffalo, N.Y. to William and Margaret Shaw. Bill was active with the Loyal Order of the Moose where he held numerous positions such as Governor, Past Governor, Jr. Governor, Prelate and Trustee. He was a proud US Army Veteran who served his country honorably. He enjoyed traveling and watching NASCAR.

Bill is survived by his family, William John Shaw, III, Altamonte Springs; 3 sisters, Margaret Andrews, Joan Dulski, and Patricia Cudzillo, all of Buffalo, N.Y.. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Annie K. Shaw and a sister, Carol Sylvus.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at the Gramkow Funeral Home. Bill will be laid to rest beside his wife with military honors at the Florida National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 9 at 11 a.m.

BRITT LEE YATES, SR.

Britt Lee Yates, Sr., 76, of Sanford, passed away June 5, 2010 in Orlando.

He was born July 11, 1931 in St. Petersburg, Fla. and worked as a electronic technician. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Sanford.

He is survived by his wife, Imogene Yates of Sanford; sister, Lola (Kenneth) Keeping of Maine; daughters, Deborah (Ernest) Crockett of DeLand and Carol (John) Maxey of Sanford; sons, Britt Lee Yates, Jr. (Tracy) of Ocala and Michael Yates (Trish) of Ocala; brothers, David (Jean) Yates of S.C., and Harold Yates, Raymond (Joan) Yates, Charlie Mullins and George (Carol) Mullins, all of Sanford; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at First Baptist Church in Sanford with Rev. Wendell Bishop officiating.
