AUDREY JEANETTE HOOGSHAGEN

Audrey Jeanette Hoogshagen, 88, went home to be with her Lord on May 18, 2010 at the Longwood Health Care Center.

She was born September 22, 1921 in Saginaw , Mich. to Claude and Eva Burgess. Audrey was passionate about people and enjoyed visiting with people. She was a missionary with New Tribes Mission. Some of her hobbies included walking, sewing, and baking pies.

She is survived by a daughter, Avis (Ron) Bodin, Sanford; brother, Robert Burgess, Gladwin, Michigan; sister, Carolyn Patterson, Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, one great grandchild; one great God child. Audrey is preceded in death by her first husband David Bacon who was martyred in 1943 while doing missionary work and a second husband Rolland Hoogshagen in 2002.

She was laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery on Monday, May 24 at 11 a.m. There will be a celebration of Audrey’s life on Monday at 2 p.m. at the New Tribes Mission Homes Chapel on Celery Avenue.

In lieu of flowers the family graciously requests donations be made in Audrey Hoogshagen’s memory to the New Tribes Mission Homes Chapel, 78 Mission Blvd., Sanford, Fla. 32771.

Gramkow Funeral Home, Sanford, is in charge of all arrangements.
