TYRONE ALLEN ALEXANDER

Tyrone Allen Alexander, 69, of Sanford, passed away March 17, 2010 at home following a long stay at Central Florida Regional Hospital.

Tyrone was a life long resident of Sanford who graduated from Crooms Academy in 1958 and attended Volusia County Community College. He served in the US Military for 2 years. He was employed by Kennedy Space Center for a number of years and was later employed by Florida Power and Light for 23 years, retiring in 1994. After retiring he became the community electrician with and without compensation.

He also became a vocal community activist who was often present at many city commission and community meetings. He had a keen interest in the Sanford Police Department and would often hold court on his front porch.

He leaves to mourn his passing, a loving and devoted wife of 49 years who was also his childhood sweetheart, Bobria McGill; two sons, Frederick (Margaret) of Sanford and Rodriquiz (Marci) of Miramar; four grandchildren, Ashley Rodriquiz, II Deja Alexander and Latasha Haynes; great-grandchild, Jayden Mathis; brother, Kenny Harris of West Palm Beach; sister, Ernestine Armstrong of Bartow; two uncles, two aunts; God-children, Dr. Vashun Williams and Danielle Mims; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Bethel AME Church in Sanford.

JULIA COTTON

OLIVER

Julia Cotton Oliver, 62, of Sanford, passed away March 14, 2010.

Julia was a native of Headland, Ala. and longtime resident of Sanford. She attended the public schools of Henry Co. Headland, Ala. and was a member of the St. Matthews Baptist Church. Her hobbies included fishing and enjoying her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Larry, Matthew, John Henry, Benjamin Scott and James Oliver all of Sanford, and Lillie Jean Oliver of Lake Mary; siblings, John Lee Cotton, Lonnie Green Cotton, Mary Jane Cotton, Dela Brinson, Martha Harrell and Linda Anderson all of Sanford, Jimmie Lee Dozier of Tampa, Sarah Cotton of S.C. and Ruth Jones of Vero Beach; 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 1 p.m. at the St. Matthews Baptist Church in Sanford with Rev. Leonard Wilson, Pastor officiating.

HELEN D. STAMERS

Helen D. Stamers, 69, of Sanford, passed away March 14, 2010.

She was born January 2, 1941 in Antiqua and was a homemaker. She was also a member of Spirit of Truth Ministry.

She is survived by her daughters, Bernadette (Atchley) Richardson and Sherry Ann (Albert) Francis, both of St. Thomas, Dorothy (Andrew) Dyer and Stacy Gumbs (Kevin) Butler, both of Sanford, and Joycelyn Turnbull (Steven) Mullings of Orange City; son, Darrell Stamers of Atlanta; sisters, Ethlyn Stamers Phillips of Tulsa, Okla. and Edris Stamers of Monsteratt; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Oaklawn Chapel of Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at noon at Spirit of Truth Ministry in Lake Mary with Pastor Rico Sharp officiating.

PAMELA ELAINE WADE

Pamela Elaine Wade, 59, of Sanford, passed away March 15, 2010.

She was born June 20, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio and worked as a waitress. She was also a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, William M. (Brande) Jump of Paris, Fla., and Danny C. Jump II and John D. Jump, both of Lexington, Ky.; father, Bill Jones of Sanford; mother, Marie Jones of Sanford; brother, Davis L. Henry of Sanford; sister, Frieda (Roger) Leep of Osteen; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday at Lighthouse Baptist Church with Pastor J. Dale Hardy officiating.
