He was born Oct. 27, 1937 in Alamance County, N.C. and was a minister. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Bertie Crutchfield; sisters, Val Carden of Graham, N.C. and Nettie (Bob) Day of Burlington, N.C.; Brother, Graham (Caroline) Crutchfield of Raleigh, N.C.; son, Jay (Dana) Crutchfield of Lake Mary; daughters, Sandy (Randy) Barnes of Crawfordville, Fla. and Kristy (Justin) Woolsey of Sanford; and grandchildren, Alexys, Renate, Jeffery, Jaylyn, Bryan, Nikki, and Noah.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 5 at 4 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in Sanford.
Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, Sanford, is in charge of all arrangements.
