She was born August 22, 1924 in Union Springs, Ala. and worked as a social worker for State HRS for 23 years. She was also nominated and received the prestigious “Golden Choices Award” and was honored as 2007 Ombudsmen of the Year.
She is survived by her great nieces, Ann Hexham (Tommy), and Martha Barker (John).
Graveside Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Oaklawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Oaklawn Chapel of Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, Sanford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Seminole County, 2800 E. County Home Road, Sanford, FL 32773 or the Hospice of the Comforter, 605 Montgomery Rd., Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.
