Jack was born on June 15, 1927 in Opp, Ala. He served in World War II and was honorably discharged from the Army in 1947. He then went to work for Florida Power and Light from where he retired in 1989. Jack loved and was loved by many people and he greatly enjoyed playing the fiddle.
Jack was predeceased by his first wife Lois, son, Craig, and daughter-in-law, Robin. He is survived by his wife Irmalee S. Bass of Defuniak Springs, children David Eastabrooks (Deborah) of Orange Park, Gary Bass of Deland, Ronnie Bass (Linda) of DeBary, and John Bass of DeBary, grandchildren and great grandchildren Tara Byrnes (Vince) and their son Ashton, Aaron Eastabrooks, Eric Bass (Kathleen) and their daughter Whitney, Daniel Bass (Crystal) and their children Kyle and Dean, Lynzie Cammilleri (Joe) and their children Corbyn and Callie, Jacob Davis (Christina), Parker Bass, Dawson Bass, Richard Bass (Vicki) and their children Rylan and Noah Hanson, and Mason and Jason Bass. He is also survived by a sister, Edna Brown of Lake Mary, and Irmalee’s children and grandchildren Diane and Ronnie Jones and their daughters Elizabeth and Rebeccah, all of Defuniak Springs, and Joyce and David Pellar and their children Nick and Hilary all of Oviedo.
A memorial service will be held at Stetson Baptist Church on Saturday at 10 a.m.
