A sweep by the K-9 officer alerted police to the possibility of narcotics on board. Police said they found a bag inside the car containing a spoon with residue, nine syringes, two cotton swabs and crushed oxycotin. The officer asked the driver if “there was anymore heroin on board.” The officer said the driver replied “that’s not heroin, that’s oxycotin.” The officer then said the driver asked “if I tell you who sold it to me will you please let me go?” Carissa Flores Roysum of Staghorn Court was charged with drug possession and possession of drug equipment.

A 51-year-old Deltona man was charged with DUI after a police officer said he found a man asleep in the driver’s seat of a red truck with an open bottle of Kentucky Whiskey parked behind a residence on Santa Barbara Drive. The officer said he first approached the vehicle when he saw a foot hanging out of the driver’s side window. The officer said he woke the man and asked him to walk toward his patrol car. The officer said the man staggered as he walked and spoke with slurred speech. The officer said he then inspected the car and found the key in the ignition with the radio turned on.
