Mother Sefronia Harriet Higgins Anderson Bowman, 102, of Sanford, passed away November 24, 2009 at home with her family by her side.
She was born May 21, 1907 to the late Reverend George Washington Higgins and the late Lela Cotton Higgins, in Mashualaville, Miss. She was a member of Hickory Avenue Church of God, Reverend James Turner, pastor and Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Inc., Reverend Anthony Miller, Pastor. She was a mother of both churches for many years.
She is survived by her five daughters, Mary Anderson Miller (Reverend
Sylvester Miller), Bessermer, Ala.; Mable Barber Wesley, Sanford, Alice Agemeng, Elizabeth Okoye (Peter) both of Rochester, N.Y. and Mamie Bingham (Harold) of Lake Mary; one son, John Bowman of Rochester, N.Y.; 36 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday 4 p.m. at Hickory Avenue Church of God in Sanford, with Reverend James Turner, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Sanford.

Kathryn R. Holt, 92, of DeBary, passed away November 23, 2009 in Longwood.
She was born August 25, 1917 in Toledo, Ohio and was a homemaker. She was the commander of the DeBary VFW and volunteer with the DeBary Fire Department.
She is survived by her nephew, Jack (Linda) Holt, of Sanford and other nieces and nephews in Toledo, Ohio area.
Funeral services will be held at St. Ann’a Catholic Church Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. with a visitation on Monday Nov. 30 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home in Sanford.

Barbara Ann Johnson, 70, of Debary passed away November 23, 2009 at Fish Memorial Hospital.
Born May 15, 1939 in Burlington, N.C., she moved to Debary in 1994 from Sanford where she lived since childhood. Before retiring, she was a loan officer working for the banking industry.
She is survived by her children; Katrina “Tina” Turner Bailey (Bill) of Orlando; Deborah “Debe” Ann Shoemaker Livingston (Gregg) of Bryson City, N.C.; Robert L. (Tiffany) Johnson, Jr. of Debary; Stephen L. (Renee) Johnson; a brother Sidney Reginald Boland III of Salisbury, N.C.; grandchildren; Camille, Nicole, Tyler, Caleb, Genesis, Trenton, Delaney, Amanda, Shelby, Rebecca, Cecily, Sierra, and Caitlin; great-grandchildren; Maya and Kayla; and an uncle, James (Sharon) Lingerfelt of Hendersonville, Tenn.
A memorial service at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Sanford will be scheduled. Date and Time to be determined.
