Sanford on August 8, 1959, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Sanford
Wine Company with a party hosted by their daughters and their husbands, Lisa and
Bill Cannavino, Sanford, and Laura and Scott Patrick, St. Petersburg, along with Ken
and Debra Martin, owners of Sanford Wine Company.
The room was decorated with festive golden anniversary decor. A large sheet cake
featured a picture of the bride and groom with their wedding cake. Another highlight
was a large picture on which two favorite wedding pictures were encased in hearts.
The guests enjoyed the catered Italian cuisine during the afternoon and evening and
musical trio Highway 19 provided the music and entertainment for the event that
lasted well into the night.
The following morning culminated the festivities as the honored couple was joined by
friends and family, several from out of town, for a buffet breakfast at the Lake
Mary Marriott Hotel in Heathrow.
The Bruces live in Lake Monroe where they have resided since their marriage. Edgar
retired from CSX railroad ten years ago after 46 years as a locomotive engineer.
