A 42-year-old Sanford man was charged with aggravated battery after another man was stabbed during an argument over beer at a homeless camp in woods near South Orlando Drive.
The victim was stabbed in the back, causing one of his lungs to collapse, according to the police report. Robert E. Lee was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
DUI
A 38-year-old Sanford man was arrested Sunday after an employee at Checkers, 1501 S. French Ave., said someone in the drive-thru lane fell asleep with the car running.
The driver ordered and received food, but as he started to drive away he fell asleep and the car hit the curb, according to the police report.
Shawn P. Burnsed of Iroquis Avenue was taken to the county jail. His breath test showed a reading of .018, which is more than twice the legal limit.
Larceny
A 19-year-old Celebration woman was charged with larceny Saturday after an employee at Sears, 200 Towne Center Circle, Sanford, said she saw someone take clothing out of the store without paying.
The woman said: “I was going to wear them tonight and then return them in the morning,” according to the arrest report. Lauren Marie Aguilera of Bliss Way was taken to the county jail.
Aggravated battery
A 28-year-old Sanford man was charged with aggravated battery Sunday after a man on Ridgewood Avenue was struck with a broken beer bottle during a fight.
Police said they stopped a car they were seeking and the passenger got out and said, “It’s me.” Theimo Mateo was taken to the county jail.
