Police seek suspect in Family Dollar robbery

The Sanford Police Department is currently investigating a robbery that occurred shortly before 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, at Family Dollar, located at 413 1st Street. The suspect approached the counter, pointed a gun at the clerk and advised the clerk to get on the ground. The suspect then demanded money from another clerk and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6-feet-tall, with a slim build. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a ski mask, black and grey hooded jacket coat and blue jeans.
