Jones has been assigned to Charlie Shift security since Jan. 13, 1998. During these 10 years, he has proven himself to be a model for staff and supervisors around him to emulate.
Jones possesses an unparalleled work ethic, says his supervisor Lt. Rex. This allows Jones to excel toward a higher plane, unattainable by those without the finest integrity and professionalism.
Deputy Jones has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 1987. For 20 years, he has continued to serve this community with great pride and distinction. Having been assigned to every aspect of the correctional continuum, surpassing expectations at every level. He has proved himself to be reliable and capable of succeeding regardless of the assignment.
Jones has continued and maintains his focus and motivation, continually raising the bar reference personal and professional achievement.
One such example is the County Boot Camp known as Operation Right Track. Deputy Jones went to training and became a drill instructor. He worked his way to senior drill instructor and made himself available to every young person and parent with a need in Seminole County.
He conducts court ordered tours to children who could benefit from positive influence, always going beyond the norm to follow up and help those in need of his assistance. Parents are indeed grateful for his influence on their children’s lives.
He wears his uniform with tremendous pride always fulfilling his profession, he has an untiring work ethic and dedication. He is always above reproach and committed to the standard of excellence set forth by Sheriff Donald F. Eslinger.
Jones has proved himself to be an asset to the Sheriff’s Office and the correctional profession.
In May, Jones will receive his award in Sacramento, Calif. He is the husband of Valeria Jones and father of Donta and Devin.
