Orlando Sanford International Airport and Direct Air announced nonstop service beginning to Myrtle Beach International Airport in South Carolina with continuing service to Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus, Ohio.
Service will operate two days per week on Wednesday and Saturday using Airbus A319 and Airbus A320 aircraft leased from Virgin America.
The A319 aircraft, with 8 first-class and 114 coach-class all-leather seats offers plasma television, touch service screens, satellite radio and telephone and computer connectivity aboard each flight.
The flights will be staffed by Virgin America flight crews.
According to airport president Larry Dale, “Direct Air’s service to Myrtle Beach and Columbus opens exciting new opportunities for Central Florida’s traveling public that will significantly enhance our summer season.”
Direct Air currently offers nonstop service between Sanford and Kalamazoo, Mich., and Worcester, Mass.
