Police officials said they arrested a man they believe is responsible for the armed robbery of two Sanford businesses earlier this week.

Tramaine C. Kinney, 24, of Sanford, was apprehended near Wal-Mart on S. Orlando Drive after someone reported a man running through the parking lot with a rifle. Although Kinney fled, police were able to catch him.

When they stopped Kinney police also found a pellet gun and a knit cap – both of which matched the description of the suspect from Hungry Howies’s robbery on Monday evening.

Police said they believe Kinney is responsible for the robbery – where $900 was taken – as well as another armed robbery of the Family Dollar on 1st Street last Saturday night.

Kinney is charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of fraud, two counts of grand theft and robbery with a weapon.

Kinney is also charged with larceny, as police believe he stole the pellet gun from Wal-Mart before he was apprehended. He is currently being held in the Seminole County jail on a $10,500 bond.

Kinney served in prison from May 2010 until October 2011 for robbery with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
