Battery

• Police arrested a 48-year-old Sanford man Saturday after they said he pulled a woman’s hair because he was mad at her for trying to go to sleep.

Julian John Burgiel, of Fox Quarry Lane, was charged with domestic violence battery and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 53-year-old Sanford man Sunday after they said he hit a woman in her eye during an argument about cigarettes.

Alberto Cruz, of S. Sanford Avenue, was charged with domestic violence battery and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 36-year-old Sanford man Sunday after they said he struck the woman in the face.

The man claimed he put his hand on her lip but did not hit her.

Jesus Ramos, of Rockwood Way, was charged with domestic violence battery and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 54-year-old Sanford man Saturday after they said he hit his father in the face after an argument about the volume of his music.

Darrell Bryant Dukes, of S. Elm Avenue, was charged with battery on a person of 65 years or older and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 36-year-old DeLand woman Sunday after they said she bit a man and threw a pen at him.

Police said the woman showed up at the man’s work intoxicated and started an altercation with him.

Jessica Marie Forbes, of S. Kentucky Avenue, was charged with two counts of battery and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 32-year-old Starke man Saturday after they said he hit a woman in the head during an argument.

Dewayne Curtis Henderson was charged with domestic violence battery and taken to the Seminole County jail.

Destroying evidence

• Police arrested a 24-year-old Longwood man Saturday after they said he swallowed a bag of marijuana when he saw police approaching him.

Police said they saw the man in a parking lot at Airport Boulevard and Orlando Drive but none of the businesses in the parking lot were open. When police approached him he pulled a baggie of marijuana from his pants pocket and swallowed it. Police also said the man had rolling papers and an open container of alcohol on his person.

Jacob Ross Mound, of Tollgate Trail, was charged with destroying evidence, possession of marijuana, loitering, drug equipment possession and possession of an open container of alcohol. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

Drug possession

• Police arrested a 21-year-old Casselberry man Saturday after they said he was in possession of marijuana.

Police said the man was in a room at the Budget Inn and guests had complained about the noise coming from the room. When police arrived they said they saw the man drop a bag of marijuana from his shorts pocket.

Jefferson Zapata, of Jupiter Way, was charged with possession of marijuana and taken to the Seminole County jail.

Fraud

• Police arrested a 22-year-old Longwood woman and a 19-year-old Oviedo woman Tuesday after they said the two stole thousands of dollars in merchandise and cash from Macy’s in the Seminole Towne Center.

Police said the women were employees of the store and while they were working merchandise had gone missing as well as cash. A loss prevention officer for the store said credit cards had also been fraudulently charged during the two’s shifts. When she approached one of the women, the woman admitted to taking merchandise and cash during her shifts. The second woman also admitted to the crimes.

Brandie Michele Gentile, of Trafalgar Place, and Stephanie Helen Rose, of Boat Club Road, were both charged with larceny, illegal use of credit cards and swindling to obtain property. They were taken to the Seminole County jail.

Larceny

• Police arrested a 25-year-old Holiday man and a 22-year-old Sanford man Sunday after they said the two attempted to steal several items from 7-Eleven on S. Orlando Drive.

William John Reyes, of Devonshire Drive, and Codey Michael Dennis Steen, of Sanford Avenue, were charged with larceny and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 48-year-old man Friday after they said he attempted to steal a case of beer from Walmart on Rinehart Road.

Police said the man ran out of the store and attempted to hide behind another building. When police caught the man he apologized for taking the beer.

Craig Andrew Kennedy, homeless, was charged with larceny and resisting recovery of merchandise. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 45-year-old Plant City man Monday after they said he stole cologne from a store on Towne Center Boulevard.

Darren Bernard Johnson, of W. Delaware Avenue, was charged with larceny and taken to the Seminole County jail.

Obstruction of public street

• Police arrested a 50-year-old Sanford man Friday after they said he was holding a sign that read “Need Help” at the intersection of Lake Mary Boulevard and U.S. 17-92.

Frank A. Rhilander, homeless, was charged with obstruction of a public street and taken to the Seminole County jail.
