• Police arrested a 33-year-old man Wednesday after they said he pushed a pregnant woman during an argument.
Aaron Knight was charged with aggravated battery, offender should have known victim was pregnant. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.
Battery
• Police arrested a 49-year-old Sanford man Thursday after they said he grabbed a woman’s arm and shook her during an argument.
Marshall T. Harrold was charged with battery on a person 65 years of age of older and taken to the Seminole County jail.
Aggravated assault
• Police arrested a 26-year-old Sanford woman Wednesday after they said she swung a baseball bat at four other women during an argument.
Latanya Perdue, of W. 5th Street, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and taken to the Seminole County jail.
Drug possession
• Police arrested a 21-year-old Sanford man Aug. 31 after they said he was in possession of marijuana during a Seminole High School football game.
Police said the man along with several other people were creating a disturbance at the entrance of the field and when they searched him they found a baggie of marijuana on his person.
Brian Key, of Magnolia Avenue, was charged with possession of marijuana under 20 grams and resisting an officer without violence. He was issued a notice to appear in court.
• Police arrested a 25-year-old Sanford man Thursday after they said he was in possession of marijuana.
Police said the man was in vehicle that seemed suspicious on Sanora Boulevard. The man advised police he had an illegal substance within the vehicle, they said. When police searched the vehicle they found marijuana.
Jeremy Andrew Maraugha, of Magnolia Park Trail, was charged with possession of marijuana under 20 grams and issued a notice to appear in court.
Cruelty to animals
• Police arrested a 25-year-old Casselberry man Sept. 26 after they said he left two cats caged in an apartment he was no longer living in.
Police said they went to the man’s residence on W. Airport Boulevard to serve an eviction notice. When police entered the apartment they found one partially decayed cat and another in desperate need of medical attention. The second cat could not be saved by animal control. Police said the man had left the cats caged without food or water.
Alfonso Vilela Ramirez, of Suncrest Loop, was charged with abandonment of animals and cause of cruel pain and suffering of animals. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.
Disorderly intoxication
• Police arrested a 44-year-old Sanford man Wednesday after they said he was drunk and lying in a ditch along S. Orlando Drive.
Police said the man was irate when they found him and attempted to spit on a fire fighter but missed. Police also said the man through a bag at police and said, “I have dope.” The bag contained marijuana. When police attempted to put the man in the police vehicle they said he resisted.
Jorge Luis Gonzalez Colon, of E. Coleman Drive, was charged with disorderly intoxication, possession of marijuana and resisting an officer without violence. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.
Open container
• Police arrested a 38-year-old Sanford man Wednesday after they said he was drinking from an open container of alcohol and refused to leave Lowes property.
Police said the man became very irate after they gave him a verbal warning to leave and attempted to break the back window of the police vehicle.
Carlos Hernandez Avila, homeless, was charged with possession of an open container of alcohol, trespassing and resisting an officer without violence. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.
Incidents
• In two separate incidents members of two churches on Magnolia Avenue reported to police that someone had stolen copper on Tuesday.
A man from Holy Cross Episcopal Church on Magnolia Avenue reported to police that someone stole one of the copper down spouts from the church. He told police this is the third time this is had happened. On the same evening a man from First Baptist Church reported to police that copper tubing from the church’s air conditioning unit was missing. The churches are approximately a block from each other.
