Most notably Alive After 5 will feature at Motown Karaoke Sing-a-long next to the welcome center with prizes for those that enter. The booth will be sponsored by Rockin’ Rhonda’s and participants are encouraged to wear Motown attire.
An adult prize package will include gift certificates to The Breezeway and Café Rouge, a manicure and pedicure from American Spa & Nail, adult shampoo and haircut from Lisa Reiner at Exclusive Cuts, two tickets to the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center and a bar tab at Rockin’ Rhonda’s.
A child prize package will include an ice cream certificate to Taste of Thyme, a child’s shampoo and haircut from Lisa Reiner at Exclusive Cuts, two tickets to Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center and a gift certificate from Smoothie King.
Drawings for the winners will be held at 8 p.m. in front of the welcome center. Winners do not have to be present to win.
Alive After 5 will also feature its regular festivities including food, music and more than 60 vendors.
Music will be by Carlene Mitchell-N-Fusion at Magnolia Square.
The main food sample will be provided by Sanford’s Angel’s Soulfood and BBQ who will serve chicken, black-eyed peas, rice and cornbread.
Additional merchants serving samples include Café Rouge, Christo’s, Maro Dino’s, The Breezeway and The Willow Tree. Also, Buck’s Catering, Chianti’s Pizza, Smokey Bones and Soul and Caribbean Cuisine will have samples.
If you feel like you ate too much, head over to Seminole Crossfit on 1st Street for a 20-minute workout demonstration in front of the business.
As always, you can also pick up handmade artwork from artists on Palmetto Avenue.
Alive After 5 is held the second Thursday of each month in downtown Sanford. Wristbands are $7 and includes food samples from each of the vendors.
