32nd Anniversary for Elder Gradey and Sister Betty Roberson, Pastor and First Lady of Divine Temple of God, formerly known as Triumph the Church of the New Age, located at 1006 W. 6th St.

On Sunday, July 8, the congregation and community held an Anniversary Service for the Pastor and First Lady. Theme, “Christ Has Set Us Free,” Galatians 5:1. Mistress of Ceremony was Dr. Ericka Terrell Tillman. Devotion was led by Destined to Praise. Prayer was by Elder Herman Gibson, Assistant Pastor.

The Responsive Reading was II Corinthians 4, led by Deacon Eugene Alexander. Welcome and occasion was given by Lajuliette Glenn. Reflections of love and appreciation were extended to Elder Gradey and his lovely wife by Deacon Eugene Alexander, Deacon Edge, Sister Thomas, Ralph Tillman, Rev. Emory Blake, Elder Henderson and Bishop Ronnie and Ingrid Richardson of Atlanta. Selections were rendered by The House of Christ Ministries Choir.

Keynote speaker for the celebration was Elder Calvin M. Donaldson, Sr. who spoke from John 21:15. He encouraged the congregation to move on up and asked the question, “Do you love enough?” because it takes love in order to meet our Master. Presentation was presented by Sister Michelle Davis.

Sister Patrice Royals gave acknowledgement of the visitors as well as words of thanks. The remarks of appreciation were given by Elder Gradey and Sister Betty Roberson.

• Vacation Bible School, July 23-27, 6 to 8 p.m. VBS Safari, “Wild About Jesus” to be held at Divine Temple of God (formerly Triumph, the Church of the New Age), Elder Gradey Roberson, Shepherd, 1006 West 6th Street, (407) 322-4196. There will be fun lessons, activities, arts and crafts and more. Youth and adults are welcomed.

• July is traditionally “Family Reunion Month,” families taking time to reflect on, appreciate, cherish and celebrate the “gift” of family with family gatherings taking place all around the country.

The “Rejoice” radio broadcast celebrates, “Family Reunion Month” on July 15 by way of special programming featuring the legendary Barnes Family from Rocky Mountain, N.C. The Barnes family has been on the gospel music scene for more than 30 years and has received national and international acclaim.

The Barnes family reunion is comprised of the patriot of the family, the late Bishop F. C. Barnes, Wanda and Deborah Barnes, Luther Barnes and the Sunset Jubilaires and the choir from the Church founded by Bishop F.C. Barnes, The Red Budd Gospel Choir. They have won numerous awards and nominations including Stella and Grammies. Bishop F.C. Barnes and his son Luther Barnes, have been inducted into the “Music Hall of Fame.” They have a combined total of 40 CD releases.

Two of their CD projects are entitled, “The Barnes Family Reunion.” On this weeks “Rejoice” broadcast, pre-recorded selections from the Barnes Family Reunion project CD will be aired. Tune in to the “Rejoice Radio Broadcast on Sunday, July 15 at 8:45 a.m. over WSDO, 1400 AM Radio.
