So You Think You Want to Paint?

The Art Affair Gallery has rescheduled their workshop doubleheader. On Friday, June 27 starting at 2 p.m. the gallery will hold two complementary workshops for aspiring painters.

Award winning plein air artist, Trish Vivera, will present “So You Think You Want to Paint?” from 2 to 4 p.m. This workshop aims to introduce the beginner to intermediate student to plein air techniques and will cover the fundamentals of this media.

From 4 to 7 p.m. the “Sanford Skyline” workshop will meet at the Sanford Marina to paint Lake Monroe, the docks and boats or the cityscape. This activity is suited to all levels.

The first workshop is a bargain at $25, and the second for $45 or both for $60. Materials are not included.

Floridian nature

Third-Generation Floridian Karen Carasick has begun to embrace non-traditional methods to express her evocative and rich imagery. She is deeply influenced by her connections to the native landscape and paints her biography on the canvas.

Mrs. Carasick's work will be hung at the Steinway Gallery in Altamonte Springs for the entire month of July. There will be a reception to meet and greet the artist on July 14 at 6 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public.
