The show Alice The Musical will play at The Princess Theater in downtown Sanford Friday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 3 at 2 p.m.

Pop Up Piano

Pop Up Piano will conclude their stint in Seminole County on June 3 at 2:30 p.m. in The Wayne Densch Performing Art Center.

This culminating event will be an extravaganza in every sense. All twelve decked out pianos will be on stage and played by their respective sponsors. An “American Idol style” competition is to be held for piano players and the votes will have been tabulated in the contest to determine which decoration is Seminole County's favorite with the winner to be announced.

The WDPAC's lobby is adorned with art from two painters who hail from Europe. Beatrice Athanas, of Hamburg, Germany has traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Caribbean and the African continent. She became a commercial pilot, but settled in Florida for the life of a painter. Her paintings use vibrant light and striking colors to draw the viewer in.

Marjorie Bryan of London, England notably uses subtle gradations in tone and shade to depict tranquil scenery and clam settings.

Food Truck Bazaar

This Saturday, June 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. the Food Truck Bazaar will be visiting Sanford. Head down to the marina at the corners of Seminole Boulevard and Palmetto Avenue where about ten food trucks will convene with an array of tasty delights.

Curator, Mark Baratelli works hard to see that there is something for everyone, from barbecue to cupcakes, you never know what you will find, but rest assured that it will be unique, fun and fresh.

Prices average from $6-$10 per plate and there is no cost for admission. Bring a picnic blanket, lawn chairs, and the whole family.

Call to Actors

The Princess Theatre will be holding auditions for their upcoming production of “Moon Over Buffalo.” Two washed up actors, a husband and wife duo may get the break of a lifetime by reinvigorating their Hollywood careers in this 1950s era comedy.

Auditions will be held on Sunday, June and Monday, June 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the theater.

Interested parties may call the theater at 321-578-1463 or email princesstheater@celerysoup.com

Call to Artists

The Historic Sanford Welcome Center is now accepting submissions for next month's Art Walk. June's theme is “A Show About Nothing.” The loosest of categories, entrants are invited to submit anything abstract. No pieces with discernible subject matter will be accepted.
