The Sanford Historic Trust will hold a free workshop Nov. 19 on how to make the large lighted balls that were displayed in Sanford’s historic district last year.

Materials needed for each ball are:

• A 36-inch by 36-inch piece of chicken wire

• Two strands of mini lights, 100 bulbs each

• Work gloves

The lighted balls were used during last year’s Holiday Tour of Homes, and lit up each house included on the tour.

Trust member Kathy Hull said the goal this year is to have many more homes in the historic district lighted with the eye-catching decoration.

Supplies can also be purchased at the workshop.

The workshop will be held Nov. 19 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Historic Sanford Welcome Center at 230 E. 1st St. in downtown Sanford.
