DAR CELEBRATES CONSTITUTION WEEK

The Sallie Harrison Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution celebrated the start of Constitution Week (Sept.17-23) by ringing bells on Friday in front of the Sanford Museum, 520 E. 1st St. Chapter members joined many others across the nation by participating in “Bells Across America” at the start of this annual event. Chapter members rang their bells in public to show their patriotism to this country, support for the Constitution and to honor the heritage of America and the sacrifices that have been made for this country. Known as the largest women’s patriotic organization in the world, DAR has more than 165,000 members with approximately 3,000 chapters in all 50 states and 11 foreign countries.
