1st photo courtesy of Paul Jex _ It was a big weekend for Seminole County-based youth basketball teams as the True Ballers 3rd grade boys and the Seminole County PAL AAU Lady Commanders both won tournament championships. The True Ballers traveled out to Melbourne to play in the Space Coast Classic and went 4-0 to claim the title. In the 1st picture, left to right, is coach Donnie McClain, Jacob Craig (an All-Tournament pick), Jayme Oliver (All-Tournament), Greg McClain, Nikai Jex-Martinez, Bruce Harrison-Jex, Trayvon Osborne, Terence Gibbs (the tourna-ment MVP) and head coach Paul Jex. The Seminole County PAL AAU Lady Commanders (2nd photo), made up who of 6th to 9th Graders, played at the 9th grade level and won the 2013 9th Grade AAU Girls Basketball State Champi-onship in the Silver Bracket at the brand new Big House in Tavares. In the Silver Bracket Semifinals, the Command-ers topped the Florida Piranhas, 47-40, and then took down the veteran Orlando Blazers, 69-60, in the Championship Game.
