ELLEN BETTS

Ellen Betts, 89, of Sanford, died September 14, 2008.

A native of Sanford, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Sanford High School. Born on December 23, 1918, to Ernest & Laura Betts, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, W. E. and Ralph; and sisters, Ernestine and Jewel. Ellen was an avid sportswoman. Among her many accomplishments were winning the Sanford Woman’s Golf Association Championships in 1966 and 1968. She was the pillar of the Betts family. She was a leader through her activities and kindness always giving in nature and teaching from her experience. Her many friends are a real testament to her goodness.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Carolyn Betts; nieces, Terri Betts, Melanie Betts, and Ellen (Dennis) Shindle; and nephews, Ralph Betts, Jr and William (Donna) LaFreniere.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Brisson Funeral Home.

Brisson Family Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

MYRTICE B. CLARK

Myrtice B. Clark, 75, of Sanford, died September 13, 2008.

She was born February 4, 1933 in Wing, Ala, and worked as a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters, Cathy (Danny) Harris, of Sanford, and Connie (Lackan) Groves, of Australia; son, Doug Clark, of Sanford; daughter-in-law, Vicki Clark, of Great Falls, Mont; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Oaklawn Chapel of Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home with Pastor Harvey Carpenter officiating.

ANNIE RUTH WHACK

Minister Annie Ruth Whack, 80, of Sanford, died September 11, 2008 at Life Care Center of Altamonte Springs.

She was born May 28, 1928 in Greelyville, South Carolina. She was an Associate Minister and faithful member of Rescue Church of God, Sanford, Florida.

She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Brant and Betty Donaldson; sister, Joann Keels; brothers, twin, Joe Mason Bradshaw, Levi Bradshaw, Taylor Bradshaw, and Isaiah Bradshaw; one granddaughter, four great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rescue Church of God in Sanford with Pastor Calvin Donaldson, officiating.
