Employees at the Center gave many comments about her funny and kind expressions. She is always well aware of her surroundings, they said.
Pastor and Sister Otis Raines, deacons and members of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church helped Morgan celebrate with ice cream and cake for all. Prayer was offered by Deacon Dennis Abraham.
The “birthday history” of Willie Mae says she was born five miles from Live Oak, Fla., and moved to Sanford at an early age.
Sharing the “Happy Birthday” was Deacon Hubert Frison, Leon Knight, Leonard Richardson, Carolyn Raines, Margie Knight, Blanch Brown, Dorothy Brown and Claudia Hughes.
Morgan says her favorite scripture is Psalm 23 and she thanks God for her life and for her son, Bennie, who is now 85 years old.
As the sun was going down in the west over the beautiful St. Johns River on Saturday, the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 Memorial was being held in remembrance of Mannie Leroy (Mannie Boy) Clark, who was a victim of the 9/11 New York City disaster.
The evening service was led by Deacon Victor Dargan. Opening selection was “The Lord is My Shepherd.” Prayer was by Deacon Freddie Hudson and the Scripture was done by Evangelist Hill (2 Corinthians 4:7-8). Cynthia K. Walden gave the welcome and encouraged the guests to be cheerleaders for God. “I’m Free” was read by Sherlyn J. Brinson. Musical medleys on the keyboard and sax were rendered by Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nathan. The “Serenity Prayer” was read by Anita Washington and musical renditions were by Latisha Dixon. Reflections of love were extended by classmates Dr. Barbara Kirby-Bentley, Rev. Calvin Donaldson, Minister Ronald Nathan and Rev. Loman Oliver. A memoriam was led by Deacon Robert Gordon as the audience paid tribute to a great brother, uncle, nephew, classmate and friend. “God Bless America” was the selection of honor to the deceased of 9/11.

• The Greater New Mount Calvary M.B. Church “Victory Celebration” will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at 1109 W. 12th St. The theme is “Rebuilding the Wall.” Former pastor Rev. G.L. The theme is “Flower of Service for Women in Bloom in God’s Garden.”
