Billy's wife, Barbara; daughter, Lisa M. Sanchez (John); grandson, Walter J. Mahany; granddaughter, Lacey M. Sanchez; grandson, Jacob Sanchez; brother, Tommy E. Vincent (Terese) and Mother-in-Law, Lois W. Griffis survive him.
Billy was employed at The Sanford Herald as a photographer until the mid 1970's when his brother, Tommy Vincent took over his photography duties. Tommy took over his duties when Billy was deployed to the South Pole in 1976 for “Operation Deep Freeze”.
Billy also wrote an outdoor fishing column for the newspaper called, “Gone Fishin’”. It was written in a folksy style, which proved popular among readers at the time.
While working with The Sanford Herald he worked as a Special Deputy for the Seminole County Sheriff's Department/Homicide team as a photographer. He was also a cook for the Seminole County jail when it was located on Park Avenue.
Billy retired from the US Army, serving in Germany in the early 1960's. Afterward working for Shoemaker Construction from 1977 to 1979.
He retired from Central Florida Regional Hospital after 27 years as a Maintenance Engineer in 2004. Billy received the Dr. Frist Humanitarian Award on July 25, 1989, from then Hospital Administrator, James Tesar.
Billy sang at the First Baptist Church of Osteen in the "Celebration Choir" and as a member of the church's quartet, "One Voice Quartet". He also cooked big spaghetti dinners for the church’s special fundraisers.
Singing was a passion of Billy's and he enjoyed the community of his church.
Billy was a Mason, a photographer; artist, fisherman and he loved to cook for his family and community. He was well respected by his family and all who had the privilege to know him.
A memorial will be held for Billy's life, which will be announced at a later date.
