ROBERT LEONARD
Robert Leonard, 62, of Sanford, passed away July 22, 2010 at his residence.
He was born February 28, 1948 in Erie, Pa., the son of the late Dorothy Marion (Robinson) and William Alvin Leonard. He moved to Sanford seven years ago from Las Vegas, where he lived fro many years.
He was a telephone repairman working for Sprint for almost 30 years in Las Vegas, and prior to that owned his own shoe store in Henderson, Nev. One of his hobbies was to collect old pictures of his favorite movie stars, some of which he met while working.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Las Vegas, and loved horses, owning a beautiful palomino while in Vegas. He also loved fishing, boating and very much enjoyed playing miniature golf.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth Leonard of Albuquerque, N.M. and Shelley Killiee of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Pastor Larry Leonard of Sanford; and sisters, Carol Leonard of Sanford and Bette Morris of Orlando; three grandchildren, Nicholas Ray, Josselyn and John. He is also survived by his very dear and oldest friend from Nevada, James “Bones” Kocher.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. at the Grace Fellowship Congregational Church in Sanford with Pastor Larry Leonard officiating.

BETTY J. MILES
Betty J. Miles, 74, of Lake Mary, passed away July 22, 2010 in Lake Mary.
She was born January 25, 1936 in Rochester, Minn. and worked as a treasurer for Dewatering, Inc. She was also a member of All Souls Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Miles of Lake Mary; sons, Tim of Valrico and Terry (Diane) of Richmond Hill, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Oaklawn Chapel of Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Sanford. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at All Souls Catholic Church, downtown.

THOMAS M. MOORE
Thomas M. Moore, 69, of Sanford, passed away July 19, 2010 in Orange City.
He was born May 13, 1941 in Sylacauga, Ala. and was the manager of the Orlando Branch of Dykes Industries. He was also an active member in the Republican National Party and donated his time and resources to several local charities including Boys Town and Feeding the Homeless in Orlando. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Moore of Sanford; brother, Steve Moore of Colorado; sons, Howard and Michael Moore, both of Lake Mary; daughter, Gail (Glen) Reed of Deltona; seven grandchildren and one great-nephew.
Visitation will be held today (Sunday) from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Oaklawn Chapel of Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Sanford. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Oaklawn Chapel with Pastor Leonard O’Donnel officiating.

STEPHENS
Deacon Willie “Buster” Stephens, 87, of Midway, passed away July 17, 2010 in Midway.
He was born in Bradenton and was a longtime resident of Sanford. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and a dedicated Deacon at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Midway.
He is survived by his two sons, Willie (Tracye) Scott and Arnold Lee Henderson, both of Sanford; two daughters, Thelma S. (Julio) Rivas of Sanford, Madell H. (Roger) Breedlove of Rochester, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Lawrence Stephens of Morganville, N.J., Lonnie Rutley and Frank (Mary) Rogers, both of Chester, Pa., Joseph (Martha) Rutley of Citra, and Sam (Betsy J.) Rogers of Tinton Falls, N.J.; uncle, Charlie (Fannie) Gibbs of Durham, N.C.; and a loyal cousin, Sylvester “Speed O” Randall, Jr.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Midway. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church in Midway.
