WILLIAM ‘BILL’ ANNAN

William “Bill” Annan, 81, of Winter Springs, died August 14, 2007. He was born Auburn, New York and moved to Florida in 1972. He was a project supervisor for road construction.

Survivors include wife of 60 years, Laura Annan, of Winter Springs; sons, Scott (Tracey) Annan, of Winter Springs, and Joey (Sharon) Annan, of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Debra (John) Ditoro, of Phoenix, AZ; and brother James Annan, of Costa Mesa, CA; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were held Aug. 17 at Collison Family Funeral Homes with Chaplain Mike Caroline officiating.

STEPHEN A. GROOVER

Stephen A. Groover, 59, of Sanford, died August 14, 2007. He was born November 6, 1947 in Kissimmee Florida. He was a maintenance mechanic for Seminole county schools.

Survivors include wife, Diane Groover, of Sanford; daughter, Stefany Rhoades (Jason), of Sanford; sons, Travis (Deborah) Groover, of Sanford, and Matthew Groover, of Sanford; brother, Leroy Groover, of Sanford; father and mother in-law, Robert and Bertie Powell, of Sanford; and brother-in-law, Robert Powell, Jr, of Sanford.

Services were held Aug 17 at the Oaklawn Chapel of Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home in Sanford with Chaplain Mike Caroline officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bob Hosford Foundation “Kidney” at Translife, 2501 N. Orange Ave., Suite 514, Orlando, FL 32804.

RICHARD L. KINNEY

Richard L. Kinney, 76, of Lake Mary, died August 14, 2007. He was born September 26, 1930, in Stevens Point, WI. He was an Army veteran and worked as truck driver.

Survivors include wife, Raquel Kinney; sons, Richard L. Kinney, Jr., Wayne D. Kinney; daughters, Ina Marie Haerens and Elizabeth Anne Vere; brother, Darrell Kinney; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY.

JOHN ANDREW MCNICHOL

John Andrew McNichol, 74, of Altamonte Springs, died August 12, 2007. He was born in 1933 in Oneida, NY and served in the Korean War as a member of the 25th Infantry Division. He moved to Florida in 1965 as a retired engineer from Stromberg-Carlson and received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in 1972.

Survivors include wife of 52 years, Mary; brother, James; sisters, Mary and Ann; children, Stephen (Beatrice), Kathleen (Charles), Robert (Mary), and Sean; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His son Joseph preceded him in death.

Services were held Aug. 16 at Annunciation Catholic Church with Father Scott Circe officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at 2141 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 7000, El Segundo, CA 90245 or on the internet at PanCAN.org.

JOHN WILLIAM MERO

John William Mero, 57, of Sanford, died August 14, 2007. He was born February 3, 1950 in Sanford. He owned Seminole Window and Door Company and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include parents, Thomas W. and Elsie Mero, of Sanford; daughter, Emily (Ian) Blue, of Lake Mary; sister, Jane (David) Counts, of Jupiter; and grandson, Grayson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association, 237 E. Marks St., Orlando, FL 32803.

Renee Paule Budelot Orloff, 100, of Winter Park, died August 14, 2007. He was born in Paris, France and worked in sales.

Marcus C. Phillips, 35, of Heathrow, died August 15, 2007. He was born January 9, 1972 in Lakenheath, England and moved to Central Florida in 1996. He was a service technician with Volkswagen and a member of Annunciation Catholic Church.

Survivors include wife of six years, Lisa Trapane-Phillips; daughters, Alexis Nicole Phillips and Ashley Elizabeth Philips; mother, Henrike Phillips, of Tuscon, AZ; sister, Severina Phillips-Gambs, of Phoenix, AZ; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Anita Trapane, of Heathrow; and brother-in-law, Ron (Christine) Trapane, of Lake Mary.

Services were held, Saturday, Aug. 18 at Annunciation Catholic Church with Father Scott Circe officiating.

MARY SCHMOCK

Mary Schmock, 84, of Lake Mary, died August 13, 2007. She was born September 14, 1922 in Syracuse, New York. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calavary Assembly.

Survivors include husband of 61 years, Winston A. Schmock, of Lake Mary; daughters, Deborah (John) Pantuso, of Winter Springs, and Darleen Groth, of Tulsa, OK; sister, Anna DiThomas, of Cortland, NY; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation for Mary will be Aug. 18 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Calvary Assembly Church in Winter Park with Pastor George Cope officiating.

HARVEY SCHULER

Harvey Schuler, 95, formerly of Sanford, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2007.

He was the middle of six sons born to Walter and Elizabeth (Jackson) Schuler on Nov. 1, 1911. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II, fighting in Casablanca, Africa, Germany, England and France and was a survivor of the battle of Normandy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Lee Jones Schwingen, and five brothers.

Survivors include, daughter, Delores Jones, of Milwaukie, Ore.; son, Elmer Schwingen, of Charleston, S.C.; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Visitation was held Thursday, Aug. 16 followed by services on Friday, Aug. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Brisson Funeral Home in Sanford.

SSGT DAWINE ‘LEE’ WILLIS

SSGT Dawine “Lee” Willis, 70, of Altamonte Springs, died August 15, 2007. Willis began his career serving in the United States Navy, Air Force and retired from the United States Army after serving 43 years. He was a Vietnam veteran and a POW for three years. He was awarded the Purple Heart, two Bronze Stars ad the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas DiLisio.

Survivors include wife of 20 years, Irene (Violette) DiLisio-Willis; sons, Anthony DiLisio, of Merritt Island, and Ralph DiLisio, of East Hartland, CT; daughters, Anna Hotaling, of Oviedo, Donna DiLisio-Yonkin, of Chuluota, and Frances Lepine, of Key West; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Service will be held Sunday, Aug. 19, at 1 p.m. in the South Seminole Chapel of Collison Family Funeral Homes with Pastor Keith Smith of Metro Church officiating and full military honors to follow.
