Battery

• Police arrested a 33-year-old Sanford man Thursday after they said he slapped his wife in the face and slammed a car door on her leg and she was trying to get away from him.

Police also said the woman tried to call police but the man took her phone.

David John Snyder was charged with domestic violence battery and obstructing police by depriving means of communication. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 42-year-old man Thursday after they said he hit a woman with her dog and choked her during an argument.

Police said the man swung the dog around and threatened to kill it, then began beating the woman with it. They said the man also broke a car window. Police found the man with the dog near the home where the incident occurred.

Michael Wayne Jones was charged with domestic violence battery, property damage, and tormenting an animal. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

Aggravated assault

• Police arrested a 22-year-old Sanford man Monday after they said he used a gun to threaten an employee at GTS Gas n Go on Celery Avenue.

Police said the man entered the store and lifted his shirt, revealing a handgun. The employee told police the man threatened to shoot him and left the store. Police were able to catch the man at Bay and Celery avenues after the incident.

Willie Lee Barnes, of Willow Avenue, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and taken to the Seminole County jail.

Burglary

• Police arrested a 29-year-old Sanford man Sept. 5 after they said he broke into a vehicle on Celery Avenue and stole a wallet.

Police said they were able to get blood from where the suspect had broke the window which they later used to identify who committed the crime.

Tremaine Patrick, of Crescent Street, was charged with burglary, property damage, and larceny. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

Grand theft

• Police arrested a 23-year-old DeLand man Tuesday after they said he stole 35 DVDs from Walmart on Rinehart Road by concealing them in his pants.

Police said the man would not get out of vehicle when asked to and told them he had purchased the DVDs at another store and was trying to conceal them from a man who was giving him a ride.

David Michael Criscuolo, of Concord Road, was charged with grant theft, resisting an officer, and making a false report to police. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 23-year-old man Sept. 5 after they said he stole a rifle from a man on Park Drive.

Police said the man asked a friend to see his rifle because he wanted to buy a similar one. When the friend handed him the rifle, the man ran off with it.

Steven Smith was charged with grand theft of a firearm and taken to the Seminole County jail.

Larceny

• Police arrested a 43-year-old Avon Park woman Thursday after they said she attempted to steal shorts and cell phone charger from Walmart on Rinehart Road.

Ona M. Fantasia, of U.S. Highway 27, was charged with larceny and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 33-year-old Sanford man Sept. 1 after they said he stole a phone from the Fountain Lodge Motel on S. Orlando Drive.

Michael Stapler, homeless, was charged with larceny and taken to the Seminole County jail.

DUI

• Police arrested a 50-year-old Sanford man Monday after they said he was driving under the influence of alcohol on S. Orlando Drive.

Randy Eugene Somers, of Lindsey Way, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 25-year-old Orange City man Thursday after they said he was driving under the influence of alcohol on U.S. 17-92.

Police said the man claimed he only had a couple of beers at The Barn but would not perform sobriety tests because he would “fail the tests.”

Jeremy John Cameron, of W. Holly Drive, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to the Seminole County jail.

Suspended license

• Police arrested a 56-year-old Sanford man Monday after they said he was driving a vehicle at Airport Boulevard without a license.

When police asked the man if he had a license he responded, “I haven’t had a license since ’74.”

Thomas Gooch, homeless, was charged with driving without a valid license and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 29-year-old Sanford man Thursday after they said he was driving on Poplar Avenue without a license.

Willie Philmore, of Old England Loop, was charged with driving with a suspended license and taken to the Seminole County jail.

Trespassing

• Police arrested a 48-year-old Sanford man Tuesday after they said he trespassed at Walmart on S. Orlando Drive.

Police said the man had been asked to leave the property but refused. When police searched his backpack they found a pipe used to smoke crack cocaine.

David C. Morland, homeless, was charged with trespassing and possession of drug equipment. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 24-year-old Lake Mary woman Tuesday after they said she trespassed at Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen on S. Orlando Drive.

Heather Renee Swan, of W. 3rd Street, was charged with trespassing and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 49-year-old Sanford man Wednesday after they said he trespassed at Kangaroo Express on S. French Avenue.

Daryk C. Erickson, of S. French Avenue, was charged with trespassing and taken to the Seminole County jail.
