Hit-and-run

• Police arrested a 21-year-old man from the U.S. Virgin Islands on Monday after they said he left the scene of an accident after he backed his car into a gas pump, causing the pump to fall on a police vehicle.

Police said the man was at the 7-Eleven at 2939 S. Orlando Dr. when he backed out of a space and hit the gas pump, causing it to fall on a parked police vehicle. Police said the man left the scene of the accident, however they were able to stop his vehicle later. When police stopped him they said he had two children in the car and thought he had only hit something concrete and did not do any damage. Police said the man also appeared to be intoxicated.

Shazim Cruz, of the U.S. Virgin Islands, was charged with Hit-and-run and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

Battery

• Police arrested a 19-year-old Casselberry woman Saturday after they said she punched a man and burned him with a cigarette on his throat.

Police said the woman and man were having an argument in her car when she punched him several times and burned him with the cigarette. The woman claimed the man would not get out the car and she punched him to try to get him to leave.

Chelsea Alexis De La Torree, of Sandpiper Drive, was charged with domestic violence battery and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 49-year-old Sanford man Saturday after they said he punched a woman in the face during an argument.

Morris S. Freeney was charged with domestic violence battery and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 34-year-old Sanford man Sunday after they said he kicked in a door causing it to hit a woman.

Police said the man and woman were in an argument and the woman tried to lock the door to her room to get away from him. Police said the man kicked the door in, causing it to hit the woman on the back. Police said they had to chase the man and eventually tase him to stop him.

Andrew Johnson Jr., homeless, was charged with domestic violence battery and resisting an officer without violence. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 48-year-old Sanford man Friday after they said he threw a soda can at a woman in front of the Rescue Mission Outreach on 13th Street.

Police said the man claimed nothing occurred and when they tried to arrest him he dropped a pipe from his hand and crushed it with his foot.

Charles L. Rouse, homeless, was charged with domestic violence battery, destroying or tampering with evidence and possession of drug equipment. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 53-year-old Winter Park man Friday after they said he hit a woman in the face during an argument.

Kevin C. Heiman, of San Jose Circle, was charged with domestic violence battery and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 34-year-old Sanford man Friday after they said he slapped a woman in the face.

Darius Mario Redden, of S. Mellonville Avenue, was charged with domestic violence battery and taken to the Seminole County jail.

Drug equipment possession

• Police arrested a 32-year-old Sanford woman and a 40-year-old Sanford woman Sunday after they said the two were in possession of drug equipment during a traffic stop.

Police said the car they were in had expired tags and during the traffic stop police observed both women attempting to hide a glass pipe and a syringe. It was also discovered the women had active warrants and the driver had a suspended license.

Gina Alea Sweat, of S. Orlando Drive, was charged with possession of drug equipment and driving with a suspended license. Tina Louise Clark, of S. Summerlin Avenue, was charged with drug equipment possession. Both were taken to the Seminole County jail.

Suspended license

• Police arrested a 22-year-old Sanford man Saturday after they said he was driving without a license and attempted to flee from police.

Police said the man was driving in the area of 12th Street when they attempted to pull him over. The man did not stop, police said, and eventually jumped from the moving vehicle and tried to hide. Officers were able to find the man in a backyard. Police said they also found a bag of marijuana on his person.

Deontae Gerard Mobley, homeless, was charged with driving with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, fleeing or eluding police, resisting an officer without violence and possession of marijuana under 20 grams. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

Larceny

• Police arrested a 50-year-old Sanford woman Friday after they said she attempted to steal jewelry, books and a pair of sunglasses from Kohl’s on Rinehart Road.

Brenda B. Davis, of Tanglewood Drive, was charged with larceny and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 19-year-old Sanford man Friday after they said he attempted to steal more than $200 in energy drinks from Winn-Dixie on S. French Avenue.

Police said the man attempted to fight the employees of the store when they tried to retrieve the merchandise.

Gregory Tyler Neal, homeless, was charged with larceny and resisting recovery of property. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.
