Battery

• Police arrested a 37-year-old Sanford woman Saturday after they said she spit in the face of a store manager on St. Johns Parkway.

Police said when they attempted to stop the woman to talk to her she continued to walk away and then resisted police when they tried to handcuff her. Police said the woman was also yelling obscenities.

Mayling Marie Grievous, homeless, was charged with battery, resisting an officer without violence and disturbing the peace. She was taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 28-year-old man Monday after they said he hit a woman in the face during an argument.

Jorian Epstein Washington was charged with domestic violence battery and taken to the Seminole County jail.

Simple assault

• Police arrested a 30-year-old man Monday after they said he put his wife and children in fear for their lives during an argument.

Police said the woman used a machete to defend herself and the children against the man after he began punching holes in their walls.

Jermaine Terrel Jackson was charged with simple assault threat to do violence and resisting an officer without violence. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

Hit-and-run

• Police arrested a 42-year-old Sanford man Friday after they said he rear-ended a woman at 20th Street and French Avenue and fled the scene.

Police said the man ran from the accident after hitting the woman at a stoplight. Police were able to locate the man nearby and also found out he was driving with a suspended license.

Thomas William Derck, of W. 14th Street, was charged with hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

Suspended license

• Police arrested a 33-year-old Crystal River man Sunday after they said he was driving with a suspended license.

James Ralph Davis, of Sandra Street, was charged with driving with a suspended license and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 46-year-old Sanford man Sunday after they said he was driving with a suspended license.

Police said the man was also driving a vehicle with a stolen license plate.

Gerald Bernard Ransom, of Pineoak Trail, was charged with driving with a suspended license and a nonmoving traffic violation for the wrong license plate. He was taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 45-year-old Sanford man Thursday after they said he was driving with a suspended license at 15th Street and French Avenue.

James Alan Scott was charged with driving with a suspended license and taken to the Seminole County jail.

Larceny

• Police arrested a 24-year-old Sanford man Friday after they said he attempted to steal a pocket knife and markers from Walmart on S. Orlando Drive.

Timothy David Smith, of Yale Avenue, was charged with larceny and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 22-year-old Deltona man Sunday after they said he attempted to steal $119 worth of merchandise from Walmart on Rinehart Road.

Corey Daniel Turney, of Tree Haven Drive, was charged with larceny and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 48-year-old Port St. Lucie man Friday after they said he attempted to steal a soda from the Kangaroo Express on S. French Avenue.

Howard Warran Robinson, of SW Cameo Boulevard, was charged with larceny and taken to the Seminole County jail.

• Police arrested a 19-year-old Deltona woman Thursday after they said she and a juvenile attempted to steal several items from Macy’s in the Seminole Towne Center mall.

Sabra Raquel Hernandez, of Van Dale Street, was charged with shoplifting and taken to the Seminole County jail.

Disorderly intoxication

• Police arrested a 29-year-old Sanford man Sunday after they said he was yelling obscenities while walking with his girlfriend near Art Lane and Lake Mary Boulevard.

Police said a witness called because the man was hitting his girlfriend and the caller was concerned for her safety. When police arrived they said the man was intoxicated and yelling, but the woman claimed he had not hit her.

Thomas Earl Brown, of Groveview Way, was charged with disorderly intoxication and taken to the Seminole County jail.
