George Zimmerman, 28, and wife Shellie, 25.
The calls, which were outlined in the prosecution’s motion to deny bond, detail how George instructed Shellie to change passwords on his account so she would have access to money he had raised through a website, TheRealGeorgeZimmerman.com.
Although the money was raised through a PayPal account – which the two refer to as “Peter Pan” in their calls – George instructs Shellie to move the money to his bank account, then make transfers from his account to hers and his sister’s, Susie.
The two also never exactly detail the real amount of money in the account. When Shellie is instructed to move $10,000 – the two speak of moving “$10.”
In the prosecution’s motion to deny bond they said Shellie moved more than $74,000 into her account and more than $40,000 into Susie’s. The State Attorney’s Office is expected to release bank records later today.
It was because of these statements that George’s bond was eventually revoked and his wife Shellie was charged with perjury. During George’s initial bond hearing, both stated they had no access to funds and Shellie specifically stated she did not know how to access money from the website.
George has since returned to jail and will have another bond hearing June 29. At the time the two stated they did not have access to the funds, there was reportedly more than $155,000 in the account.
The phone calls also reveal a loving relationship between George and Shellie where they often refer to each other as “honey” or “sweetie.” The two talk about getting to see each other, how they will orchestrate George’s release and what type of hotel they will try to stay in.
George also refers to the place he remained in hiding before his arrest as “heaven.” He speaks of looking forward to a shower and how he wishes he could help a fellow inmate who lost their clothing in the wash.
We also learn that George is taking anti-depressants – something he’s unsure he’ll be able to receive in the jail. George states he takes Adderall, a drug commonly prescribed for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Tylenol for pain in his back.
Shellie also speaks of her faith in George’s attorney Mark O’Mara, and George states of wanting to buy bulletproof vest for he, Shellie and O’Mara for their safety.
More evidence is expected to be released in the coming days, following an order by Judge Kenneth Lester to make public certain aspects of the evidence public, most notably George’s statements to police after the shooting.
George is currently in the Seminole County jail after being charged with the second-degree murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
