The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is teaming up with CrimeLine and area police departments for the 14th annual Kicks for Guns.

Members of the community can safely dispose of unwanted firearms on Thursday, Aug. 16 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at two locations in Seminole County:

• 5655 Hwy 17-92 in Casselberry (in the Casselberry Exchange Plaza located just south of SR 436 and Hwy 17-92); or

• 300 West Lake Mary Boulevard in Sanford (in the old Albertsons Plaza near the intersection of Lake Mary Boulevard and Hwy 17-92.

No questions will be asked and no identification is required. Anyone turning in a gun will receive a $50 Walmart gift card (while supplies last).

Firearms should be unloaded and brought to the location in a plastic bag in the trunk of the vehicle. Deputies and officers at each location will safely remove it from the vehicle. Firearms of any age may be turned in.

Gun parts and BB guns will not be accepted.

The annual event is an opportunity for residents to safely dispose of guns they no longer want, keeping them off the street and out of the hands of children. Last year, 398 firearms were turned in at Seminole County’s drop off locations.

All firearms collected will be destroyed by law enforcement.
