Crooms Academy Class of 1958 will celebrate 54 years of reflections with “Panther Pride.”

The steering committee for the 54th Class Reunion is preparing a big celebration. Everyone is excited about the event because everyone remembers the fun that was had when catching up in 2010…“the best is yet to come!”

The weekend celebration of activities is Thursday, May 24 through Sunday, May 27. On Thursday, May 24 – Registration from 2 to 7 p.m. at the host hotel, Comfort Inn & Suites, Sanford; Get re-acquainted from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, May 25, morning and afternoon, “on your own,” dinner and dancing will be held at the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Sanford Lake front at 6 p.m. to midnight. Saturday, May 26, Fish Fry and Picnic, Lee P. Moore Park, 1 to 4 p.m.. Evening, “on your own.” Sunday, May 27, Church Service at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Cypress and East 10th Street, 11 a.m..

• Amvets Post 17 and Amvets Ladies Auxiliary will hold their Annual Banquet to remember our MIAs and POW’s on Saturday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Westside Boys and Girls Club, Sanford.
