Alive After 5 returns this Thursday with “Sax in the City” in downtown Sanford.

The monthly event will feature food and beverage samples, live jazz music, local art and community businesses. This month there will be more than 50 vendors participating.

Soul & Caribbean Cuisine will provide the main food sample this month of jerk chicken, jambalaya rice and cornbread.

Music will be provided by the Dave Capp Project in Magnolia Swuare and Matt the Sax Man at the corner of 1st Street and Palmetto Avenue.

The event will also have misting tents to cool off in if you get too hot.

Alive After 5 is put on the second Thursday of each month by the Historic Sanford Welcome Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Wristbands are $7 per person.
